Bangladesh Vs West Indies october'11 news update

Darren Sammy reckoned that the upcoming series against Bangladesh would be quite competitive one but expected to end the series as victorious.
He however played down the revenge factor for their humiliating series loss to Bangladesh at their home den back in 2009. Yet Sammy said they were fully aware of the nightmare though did not let the ghost to haunt them. “We have a young squad and some experienced players as well. We are looking to play good competitive cricket and hopefully to be victorious at the end of the day,” Sammy told the reporters at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Wednesday.

“We've been prepared well and done some good stuff for the series. So are hoping to come here and give a good account to ourselves,” he added.
In the last bilateral series, Bangladesh whitewashed a depleted West Indies in 2009 in both Test and ODI series. A bunch of players of that series will play for West Indies in this series also.
Sammy also played the series and said he was aware of that but was not haunted by it.
“We are not haunted by it, but its something that we are aware of. Last time when we played Test against Bangladesh, they defeated us. It will be a good opportunity for us to do the same here,” he remarked.
Subsequently he dismissed the talk of revenge saying, “It's never about revenge. It's about making full use of the opportunity that we prove ourselves.”
The West Indies had a sweet memory to force Bangladesh to hit the new low when they wrapped up them for just 58 in a World Cup match here in last March. But he thought the Bangladesh will pose serious threat this time around.
“Last time we played here, we got better of them. We will try to repeat the performance, but you know, you don't get to bowl out teams below hundred every game. Like I said, Bangladesh are a good team at home and the last one-day series they had at home, they beat New Zealand here. So we are going to focus on us and on what we can do,” he said.
Bangladesh team management indicated that they would trap West Indies in spinning track as the team got some world class spinners.
West Indies however planned to reply Bangladesh through emerging youngsters Devendra Bishoo, the ICC emerging player of the year. Bishu recently had given India a torrid time which gave Sammy a confidence to utilize the track effectively.
“We are expecting the Bangladeshi spinners to forge serious challenge. Its there backyard, they know the conditions very well. But we have the ICC emerging player of the year Devendra Bishoo in our squad and we expect him to do good things for our team as well,” he said.
But the Caribbean side will also bank on the fast bowlers who have been in great form as Sammy pondered they have the capability to bowl out Bangladesh twice in Test series.
“Our fast bowling department has been very good for us and also spins of Devendra Bishoo. So we have a good mix. Hopefully we will bowl out Bangladesh twice and take 20 wickets to win series,” he stated.
As the DRS system will not be used in Bangladesh-West Indies series, Sammy expressed his disappointment.
“The DRS has been a very good inclusion to the game. It's unfortunate that we won't have that in this series. Whatever could be made possible to eliminate errors in the game, we would welcome. Unfortunate, but that's the way life goes, you don't get always that you want,” he commented.
