Changing of the guard: Djokovic defeats Nadal at Wimbledon
"I felt like an animal," said Djokovic, who had already guaranteed himself the No. one rating by reaching the final. "I desired to see the way it tastes. It tastes nice."

Djokovic won his third Grand Slam title by beating defending champion Rafael Nadal 6-4, 6-1, 1-6, 6-3 in Sunday's final at the All England Club. Then, savoring his success & basking in the moment, the second-seeded Serb dropped to the ground & pulled out a few blades of grass & ate them.

Djokovic was enough to start this year. He started the season by winning 41 straight matches, including the Australian Open title. Before this year, Nadal won 16 of the 23 games he played against Djokovic in his career, including all five in the majors. But Djokovic beat Nadal in four finals in 2011 under the title at Wimbledon, including two on clay.

"I was just in my head," said Djokovic. "I tried to get me into these games and actually perform the same as I did in those days to these matches: aggressive, taking my chances, giving him the opportunity to take control."

Nadal had his series to develop, odnako.10 Grand Slams won 20 consecutive games at All England Club, including two of the three previous games. He missed the 2009 tournament due to injury, but playing in her fifth Wimbledon final in six years.

The final loss was the first Djokovic Nadal in the finals of the main players, but Federer.
