Pakistan all rounder Shahid Afridi Set For Royals Return.Afridi is set to feature for Hampshire in their living rooms for friends T20 final, the club confirmed. Afridi missed the final match of group stage of the competition after the death of his father, but because he expressed his intention to play the Royals again.
It is set to return to England next week and train with the group until the quarter-final clash with, Durham at the Rose bowl on August 7.
"First it is important that the club is saddened by the loss of Shahid and thoughts are with him all this time is very difficult," said cricket manager Giles White.
"As for his participation in the quarter-finals, needless to say that we gave Shahid their own area to come to this decision, and we, of course, adopt any course of action chosen.
"Of course, it is a great boost to the team's player of the obvious to us, and we hope that very thing, with the rest of the squad, Shahid to help the Royals for the second consecutive day period."
Afridi took place 14 - wickets at an average of 11.5 and hit 100 in eight games in the group stage for the current champion Hampshire.
