Afridi missed the final match of group stage of the competition after the death of his father, but because he expressed his intention to play the Royals again.

It is set to return to England next week and train with the group until the quarter-final clash with, Durham at the Rose bowl on August 7.

"First it is important that the club is saddened by the loss of Shahid and thoughts are with him all this time is very difficult," said cricket manager Giles White.
