Live Baseball :The Red Sox (42-27) routed the Brewers by a 10-4

The Red Sox (42-27) defeated the Brewers by a score of 10-4 on Friday to win their third straight game and 12th win from their last 13 games. Boston singing 14 hits and received at least one RBI in eight different hitters. Boston has a lead of 2.5 games over New York in the AL East.

Jacoby Ellsbury opened with a home run with the Sox behind 2-0. David Ortiz doubled to Adrian Gonzalez to require the game at 2-2. Gonzalez 5-4 Boston forward with a home run in the fifth. Ortiz and Gonzalez each had three hits and scored three points Gonzalez. Kevin Youkilis and J. D. Drew each had two RBIs.

John Lackey lasted a ragged start he allowed four runs on seven hits in three sets to get to 5-5 in 0500. Lackey allowed one hit in five final round began. He had five strikeouts in eight innings and retired 15 straight batters at one point.

A resounding victory Friday to be expensive, however, left Youkilis, Carl Crawford started the game at all the health problems. Crawford left in the first inning with a hamstring strain and Youkilis left out in the fifth with stomach pain.
